Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead

The Phantom Drophead Coupé shows a more relaxed and less formal side of Rolls Royce. It shows a sociable character with an interior that evokes the feeling of being on board an elegant yacht. With the roof up or down it offers the occupants a dual experience, an intimate and cocooning feel or embracing the elements.

The design is based on the 2003 Rolls Royce Phantom, but its styling borrows heavily from the 100EX concept car. It is the most expensive model that Rolls Royce currently produces. Several Drophead Coupés appeared in the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The exterior of the Drophead continues the theme of the 100EX concept car such as the face of the car as are the headlights which are combined LED and xenon arclamps.

The Drophead is a hand built car made of modern aluminium and hand-crafted materials. The design of the Drophead is based on the Phantom Saloon which combines the art Deco styling of the 1930s with modern technology.

A Rolls Royce wouldn't be a Rolls Royce without the traditional Spirit of Ecstasy ornament on the end of the bonnet, as with the Phantom, it is fitted with an automatic retraction system. meaning the silver lady disappears into the bonnet when the car is locked.

The Phantom Drophead's rear hinged doors allow easy access to the rear lounge seats which are designed to gently turn passengers towards each other creating an intimate atmosphere.

The fabric roof is made from five layers of material including cashmere creating a quite and comfortable atmosphere in the vehicle with the roof closed.

The Drophead Coupé offers a versatile boot with space for a picnic hamper and a comfortable picnic seat for two.

Every detail in the Drophead Coupé has been designed to create a dynamic feel - from the sleek modern finishes to the beautiful leather which is hand-stitched and takes over 2 weeks to complete.
